Samba is dead

He´s dead. Samba Solimah. A susu boy from Guinee. We met in the summer of 1976 at the soviet pioneercamp, Artek (Lasurnaja). For one and a half months. He and I were both being threatened with expelsion due to improper and undisciplined behaviour. Samba had caught a disease at one point and was confined to a hospital for a week, since everybody who caught sick were quaranteened. But he got so bored, he ran away and was chased through the woods by men in white suits. Afterwards he showed my the spot on his as, where they injected him with tranquilizers - he was very indignant, but the more disciplined pioneer, Bassirou N´Diaye, corrected him, and made him keep quiet. Samba and Bassirou where always looking for me, to do stuff together, play football, perform songs or just hang out. On the picture Samba is standing next to danish girl, Charlotte. He was in love with her, she was in love with Bassirou. He died around 1990. You live in my heart, old friend.
